Parisienne 9

Parisian 9

huile sur toile, 100×100 cm

Since I started this series of the “Parisiennes,” Bernard Noël’s “Journal du regard” (Diary of the gaze) has been accompanying me. Each of his thoughts sounds like an ode to painting, and I cannot resist the pleasure of quoting it again: “Sometimes the pleasure of seeing occurs… Then, as if by a leap into itself, the gaze that details and recognizes transforms into a gaze that delights. And in this delight, the representation also changes and becomes a relationship… A relationship that cannot be represented because it unites.”
— Bernard Noël, *Journal du regard
