“I started this painting 4 years ago, and while I published it at the time (see the painting ‘Sign of Life’), I never exhibited it because, stored away in the depths of the studio, it waited for me to understand it in order to finish it. The evolution of my work and my constant reflection on the relationship between figure and background have allowed me to complete it today.
